This is about the optional parent account. The app works as a guest, and a guest has nothing to delete. See also the app privacy policy.
Open the app, tap the grown-up button on the home screen and answer the sum, then go to Settings and choose Delete your account. It happens straight away. You do not need to write to us and you do not need to wait.
Write to hello@sproutnicks.com from the email address the account uses, and say that you want it deleted. We do it by hand and write back to confirm. Give us a few days.
We ask you to write from that address because it is the only way we can tell it is yours. It is also the only thing we hold, so there is nothing else we could check it against.
Your email address, and the account itself. That is the whole of it, because your email address is the only thing the account has ever held.
Nothing is kept afterwards. We do not hold a record saying an account used to exist, and we do not keep the address on a list of people who have left.
Your child’s progress — their stars, their certificates, the pages they have coloured — lives on the device and has never been sent to us. Deleting the account does not touch it, and it is still there afterwards. To clear that as well, use Clear everything on this device in the same Settings screen, or delete the app.
A subscription belongs to the store you bought it from, not to us, so cancelling is done in your Google Play or App Store account. Deleting your Sproutnicks account does not cancel it, and we cannot cancel it for you.
The app works as a guest, and that is how most people use it. If you never made an account, there is nothing here to delete: nothing about you or your child has left the device.
